Scientific research in agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture has brought many benefits around the world - and is slowly taking hold in Asia... Let's speed up the action with science-based solutions that bring new beginnings for rural communities. for example... The average rice yield in most parts of Asia is up to about 4 tones/Ha. But those farmers who are defying traditional practices and trusting science are achieving 16 tonnes/Ha or more!!!
TECHNOLOGY
In the C|S|D|P world, science and technology go hand-in-hand. Science makes the breakthroughs and technology then brings improved agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture solutions . For example... The coconut industry has been thrown a lifeline with research into new palm varieties and the benefits of coconut oils in western diets, foods and cosmetics... But we have much bigger plans for this industry... driven largely by technology and science... and creative thinking!
TRADITION
When we think solutions, we focus on what is... and then progress to what is possible!
We understand that Asia presents some real challenges - based on the comforts of traditional practices. For example... Most farms and land in rural Asia are small acreage. Large scale solutions may not work until farmers owners can see the benefits... Scalable, technologically supported solutions are essential. Starting small but imagining big!!
